My kids dog dug up our cilantro patch
today
rocks and dirt crumbled
can't leave those
snakes alone

Not regular cilantro, mind you
real renegade stuff
Free of our garden
Plopped atop the
driveway, crouching
against a rock wall
fighting for light in shade
multi-headed hydrangeas

regrowth from last
year
a kid's project for sure
something lovingly
planted
or discarded and forgotten
Can't remember
Now its gone
long before
coriander seeds
could
sprout while
your back is
turned
