This is a good vocab lesson #edu407. Janice first pretaught the word, the students see them in the book, and the paly in other modalities.
One thing I might do is not focus so much on predictions in the lesson. You might ask these questions during the read aloud but they don't need to be included in the lesson.
Focus only on eliciting growth of knowledge towards your objective.
Feel free to pre select the words. Unknown words and academic vocabulary are note the same thing.
