Girdles our
Trees of Liberty
killing at edges
vines of Bittersweet
   climbing
     choking
Hungry
thirst
siphoning
  sucking
on resources
while greed steals
the
  sun
   leaving us
to mire
in tangled darkness
at the door
of reclaimed
history
at edges
  of society
a nasty force we
   must uproot
hands dirty
  in work
of getting
it done.
