When Arizona passed archaic immigration policies and Indiana passed laws that allowed discrimination every teacher organization I belong to was up in arms. Conferences were cancelled and moved. Future bids were forbidden. No business deals with those States. 

Why not the same outrage over the Confederate Flag that  flies in certain states, license plates emblazoned with symbols of hate, campuses with building names celebrating members of the KKK ?

National Council of Teachers of English, American Educational Research Association,  International Literacy Association, Literacy Research Association, it is time to take a stand. Let's not spend one dollar in states that prominently reinforce messages of hate.
