How do we stop bullying? It requires a cultural shift away from "Boys will be Boys" and "Girls Must Be Perfect" to holding people accountant for actions and creating shared culture of compassion. Develop codes of conduct for your classrooms, reinforce and model positive behavior.

In fact we just need to get away from the gender binary in general. Bullying IMO begins here, in the enlightenment idea of "survival of the fittest" and fake racial categories. I want to begin in Youth Sports. I see no difference why we must separate until 5-6th grade. Even then at intramural levels we should have inter generational gender neutral play.

The ideal of the female body and the exclusion of females from risky play leads to toxic needs for perfection and often the worst and hardest to see bullying in schools.

Yet I think it has changed since the 1990s when I went, to when I taught middle school, to now when my child is in middle school. Does horrible tragic bullying happen? Yes but it is no longer encouraged by faculty and parents as way to get you ready for the "real world"

...well except for all the corners where you hear the white fragility calls of "snowflakes." That is literally arguing for a world of bullying. Reprehensible.
