Discussed how skipping out of something for a "hair wash day" was a big insult or note of irrelevancy...We then search Twitter for "hair wash day" and discover an entire new rabbit's hole of evidence and links for the students Natural Hair Day
Lookie Lookie @screencasto added stock music collections. Even if you use Kaltura with Blackboard you may find recording and editing in @screencasto than uploading to Kaltura better. #microlecture #edtechchat #highered
No. Different piles of data manure....best of luck....glad to know schools so much better with all this data and testing....those NAEP scores rocked!!,,,,,again wish you the best
Though if snitch tagging or dunk tweeting, by definition a skilled user, and being a jerk on purpose. I would say, never screenshot tweets, if you must please remember those people who use screen readers and figure out some way not to ignore them
Stasis of permanent change permeates in deranged winds blowing against logic lost, tossed in permafrost of time policies picked over people pick over policies students struggle frostbitten faces trudging the tundra as wind whipped realities drop pressures to pay, learn, survive motions that can not be tabled treeless mountain track direction lost, battles fo
@Prof_Bruckner Meaning take the common misconceptions you noted in the writing thread. Find a mentor text that addresses these issues well. Start off next class annotating the piece. Highlight the issues you found this semester in the opening instruction of next.
@econproph I have mentioned it in other threads but what people are missing is Thoma Bravo acquisition of Frontline...They want to be a one stop shop k-16 HR, student, evaluation...revenue alone will cover $2 billion....
@Prof_Bruckner Begin next semester by annotating mentor text with students. I know I am going to add more. My biggest struggle in my writing classes was often getting across the point a short writing response is different than a short answer test question.
It is official WikiTribune now sends me more spam than academia.edu. No "next social" network will survive tryig to recreate the economies of scale....engaging in drip marketing campaigns.....notification overload....nah not for me,.....
@readywriting The swim team was also the "evil cool kid" clique in every 80s movie....Like everyone...and yelling will never work......I also think we need co-ed sports from prek-5. Why we separate when gender and biology make no differece.
I have used @hypothes_is with qualaitative research, @dogtrax @tellio and the rest of our #clmooc crew do weird poetry and multimodal annotation art all the time. @judell just released a survey tool we are using as part of #credweb
...but the holy grail.....the dream of #edreform....using student performance data to predict teacher performance and vice versa...owning learning platforms and teaching evaluation and hiring platforms...puts more of pieces together. Billions++
Another student was documenting her journey of trying to record and make all her Nonna's recipes to give everyone a #zine for Christmas...Problem....Nonna changed all the ingredient amounts so not anybody could use the recipes. Wants to capture knowledge.
My kids school uses iReady, the language arts assessment get real problematic right quick..no such thing as a diagnostic comprehension test....that belongs in the fiction section....
@audreywatters Real data connection people missing is Frontline. Thoma Bravo scooped that up for a reported billion. Has massive HR and teacher evaluation footprint. Data are THE play. Goal to be one stop data shop. chase the grail of connecting teacher to score
@JennBinis Most of edu twitter gathers and follows specific hashtags rather than timelines, so @mention vs timeline a bit moot you see both in the hashtag search, but spot on with snitch tagging and dog piling. In fcat adding tweet here https://indioeweb.org/snitch_tagging
Then shared recent legislation proposed by @corybooker after students research all the hate and discrimination young black girls still face when embracing natural hair...She was so thankful for the work I think she may have signed up to volunteer
Though @funnymonkey my @jennbinis Twitter detention would start off with, "Use Tweetdeck, follow ideas and hashtags, and delete social media from phone. Just better for mental health in general."
Observation in today's #edu106 design studio, Instagram where you put your best photos for natural hair and looking at others makes you feel bad. Go on Twitter to complain about bad days or discrimination and reading those makes you feel better
@funnymonkey I have tweetdeck set to display tweets chronological, it isn't an algorithmic feed so @mentions and replies show the same. Prefer to follow ideas not people.
