I think there are nuanced differences in how Angelou and Dunbar captured the cage bird. Yes both capture pain and suffering and both use signing as a tool for freedom but the images of flight and soaring in Angelou's poems...not sure yet but it hits me differently. #edu307

Studying Dunbar and Angelou in #edu307. I did not make connection for students.
