@jmcclurken Your own website. It all begins there. By owning your history you can make an archive of your historical thinking...you know like historians do (or should do).
John Locke called his blog a commonplace book, an important tool throughout history, own your data and thinking and start one today. Track some examples old and new here: https://indieweb.org/commonplace_book
I deleted all my RSS for the last fifteen years and started over. Trying to be more intentional about building a following page and using a social reader, though 98% of my community uses RSS and not h-feed or a JSON feed, currently rockin @inoreader
@film_girl Pairing bluetooth caused more damage to tech self-efficacy than anything I know. had a dollar for every time I heard, "You want me to do what? I cant even work Bluetooth" I could fund Tesla, this round, and again when they burn through it
@MoltenGoldArt @edg3duch3ss Did you know even a techno thriller series based on IndieWeb tech? Second book https://www.amazon.com/Kill-Switch-Chain-Book-ebook/dp/B07JLL5CP9 had intentional goal of also demystifying kink & polyamory. Did get quite perverted...by suggesting blockchain
Teacher unions need to fight for an #oer or @creativecommons license. Negotiations and district decide if monetization allowed https://www.marybethhertz.me/2019/12/23/why-teachers-should-think-twice-about-selling-their-lessons-online/
@fluffy This is awesoem!! important to note $10 monthly fee is instead of 2% if you sales are under $500 a month. Granted you need to do more than $10 a month in sales or know you will do $120 in a year, but for artist I work with @snipcart has worked well
I know the state and accreditation boards use the word minority but we need to stop. Once you say on campus "minorities are a majority" you can't be definition be the minority. There is such othering in the word
@amuzugabrieljoe Excited to learn photo and Open Street Map skills from you!! I started to fool around with displaying gpx files but it is just an iframe for now: https://jgregorymcverry.com/indiewebsummit2019 so much #oer wasted on just talk of stuff, Ethos matters
Here is my failed sabbatical application for @scsu: https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/2019/12/20/published-2-manuscripts-white-paper they don't give us much room to explain methodology but mine is quite sound and the problem I am addressing is real. Feedback welcome
I do know the way I want to calculate the effect sizes in my growth curve models violate principles of Homoscedasticity and independence, but that is a feature not a bug. I want the impact of time to build student learning. I account for this.
Crafted proposal that would A: have intergenerational contact with #NHV students in 7th grade, B: taught skills critical to saving our democracy, C: aligned to @scsu curriculum, and D: used robust formative methods..but doesnt meet level of quality required
@amuzugabrieljoe Awesome!! Ten week community gathers starting 2019-02-1, then we culminate in a two day celebration, but you can get a head start have a bunch of @goifoundation and #IndieWeb meet ups schedulesd. Anyone who attends 2X gets website
I was then going to triangulate this data with coding system based on Bakhtin’s dialogical utterances, a good fit, for the spaces where digital reading and writing evolves, the dtaata would have been combined using thematic network analysis
