Kaylee great #edu106 portfolio https://kaylee.glitch.me/Portfolio.html you really took ownership of your design. A few minor issues (look at the author in the footer and you have a paragraph from my portfolio at the end of yours). Amazing to see you grow as a technologist.
Mariana having an artist such as yourself in class makes teaching #edu106 easy. I am glad you continued to explore mixed media art and combining paper and websites. You may want to check the contrast of your backgroun colors and font colors. The blue on black...can be hard for some to read.
@iamjessklein First time I heard it driving eldest (2 at time) 40 minutes away to friends as wife went into labor with second. Listening to @HowardStern 12am and all sudden I hear from back seat "f*&*^ng r*t&(^d" Welcome to the #RealParents club
@ebonyteach I saw you made a #newwwyear promise about Twitter. Happy to help in between semesters to get all your art and knowledge on your own domain and not just on Twitter. Algorithms favor hate over reflection, why not go for owning connections?
@Ebonyteach Check out @microdotblog when you get a chance, turn key #IndieWeb service for $5 a month, intentionally hospitable community and POSSE to Twitter and Tumblr (where all the real YAL fandom lives anyways,..well WattPad)
@aleciamarie I always dug this literature review from 2007 by Kim Lawless https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/2019/12/14/lawlesspellegrino2007professionaldevelopmentintegrating-technology-into-teaching-and-learning-knowns-unknowns-and-ways #nctevillage
@Ebonyteach think will find few classrooms have control over text choices. Might be within genres or text sets but its usually driven by district and publisher relationship more than total control. It's money but also pedagogy. Novella units growing
@kisik21 I would happily play a game of webmention chess powered by websub. I could see syndicating moves to a shared board, be neat. I did try to do a roleplaying game webmentions vs zombies: http://wmvsz.glitch.me/
So I see it more as an issue of education and not just regulation of tech...that and waiting for old white people to die. Black and Brown people have more babies. TX and FL will be solid blue in a cycle or two. Maybe next one
Talk Radio/Cable News in the US. (Hillary Clinton the OG feminazi), and redistricting done after 2000 elections think vastly shaped world view. Districts became so safe and so conservative you had to embrace the fringe or lose your job.
@JmacDotOrg Here is my /now page https://jgregorymcverry.com/todolist it is a to do list for me because I am never doing now exactly what I should be doing right now.
Kind of racism keeps teachers of color out of classroom Should not be up to bilingual teachers to do labor of translating for testing companies like Pearson's EDTPA who provide lip service for diversity and ding you for speaking Spanish #literacies
@BriannaWu More than just disinformation campaigns, I don't know answers, but the folks I know in my little town of East Haddam, CT who support Trump (~50%) aren't really on tech at all....They truly feel threatened by something....its deeper
also straight racism & xenophobia in USA and UK. People look at shuttered factories in old industrial towns that used to pay wages, need someone to blame...China. Towns across rural USA dying...blame immigrants (even though you have never seen one)
If you read the study the mean score fell below two, but a mean isn't most. I didn't see a mode reported but based on the graph this just looks like a instance of mixing up mode and mean. Wonder what results would be if only "top" downloads taken.
