@DragonflyEdit Publish often and copyright after by waiting for pedantic grammar police to provide free copywriting. Might as well put the trolls to work rather than worry about crossing every bridge and t.
As @t noted video is an accepted post type with agreed upon markup. I should have checked the wiki first. Not bad I was only off by a u-photo and a u-featured...but after yesterday's long discussion on u-featured and readers and img not displaying I went with u-photo, will switch.
Threw myself in call. Tech was working on poll. Went back to house and now I am down again... Grrr.... Took screenshot of grade book and notes this time
@judell Closest I got was here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Magazine/MAD Fantastic Measurement System: Issue #33 had the "Potrzebie System of Weights and Measures", sent in by a 19-year-old Donald Knuth, who later became a computer scientist. The base unit was the thickness of Mad issue #26, or 2.263348517438173216473 millimeters.
Just checked the resume on the phone.... Still work to be done.... Looks like some random grid sticking out way too far... And publication too skinny with font size too big. Plus way too much scrolling... Ned to add section id's and buttons.
@anomalily Know of a scholar currently conducting research on Bowie #fandom previous paper: http://oro.open.ac.uk/44623/ As organizer of the Portland Bowie Bike Parade you 100% need to be interviewed. Let me know if interested.
@jdferries Wanna let me #indieweb your #digcit curriculum...my guess you already have them blogging that add some tools so students can #BeYourOwnSocialNetwork
@anomalily Okay. I have your email somewhere. Author's email may even be on the link I sent you. Haven't heard back about the #femhack grant. Will know by January. Need to book you up as emcee before your calendar gets filled.
Think I'd go with webmentions on post set to group gone forever. Have in u-reply-of links 400 to whatever means, "Warning banned member" webmentions in public, I'd say talk about me in the town Square and I can write it down and repeat it.
#edtechchat Does everything need a rubric? How can we build blogging networks as alternatives to social web? Was web 2.0 and the lessons we took from it bad for the world? https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/2018/12/18/do-we-have-a-moral-obligation-to
@iamjessklein still need to figure blogging solutions...given how often you write may want to fork: https://jgmac1106homepage.glitch.me @glitch has one button Ghost blog ( folks need to add IndieWeb love) @scottgruber encourages me to connect to @grabaperch
@cowglow, welcome to the #IndieWeb community. I believe I remember you from IWC-Berlin or Nurermberg...I was remote at both. Great job getting on the wiki. We do need to touch up you h-card on the wiki, stop by chat anytime.
Just thought of something. Would need a flag or report feature or again this is power of a webring. Violation of code of conduct leads to removal. No chat, links, search. You url no longer logs in. Enforcement of civility good first step to #credweb
Then as the world turned to social media k12 teachers tried to recreate the experience in whatever blogging platform they could get approved. For me it was a school website CMS. I had to fight for every gig but had great support as well.
Those who gravitate to these projects can throw themselves into learning HTML/CSS or even coding languages if they want to build advanced features. microformats and h-feed make basic plumbing stupid simple. Can use #IndieWeb third-party solutions for everything else
Especially facebook, using a facebook property is admission it is okay to profit while using antisemitic memes to influence Congress. A willingness to ignore a company that says they do not sell data when they actually just sell to really really rich companies. #edtechchat
Ot of parallels in this piece by @smashingmag to resentment of academic conferences. We might be non-profit but we give away our labor. Also can't help think about @IndieWebCamp running free events globally these past eight years. Community conferences can take off.
