I am working on some iPad tutorials (I hope to get to game making) and wanted animated gifs. These are my fav way to do tutorials. My workflow is probably messed up. Here it is: Use reflector to send iPad to Mac. Record to Screencast-o-Matic. Edit with overlays. Upload to Youtube. Make gifs using Imgur. I originally added annotations using Google's new tool
@doomquasar @film_girl @spacekatgat I am the bad speller. Just finished Episode 22. It wasn't so much the fangirl love, just think the watch stuff was starting to make me throw up in my mouth. Simone had me worried that WWWDC show would be nothing but watch but it was great. Critical but not gushing review....and my original critique was your Star Wars deser
When Arizona passed archaic immigration policies and Indiana passed laws that allowed discrimination every teacher organization I belong to was up in arms. Conferences were cancelled and moved. Future bids were forbidden. No business deals with those States. Why not the same outrage over the Confederate Flag that flies in certain states, license plates embla
Okay @spackatgal @flim_girl and @doomquasar slightly annoyed by this weeks episode. Which means I enjoyed it that much more. I am an Mac OSX, iOS, and Android user as I prefer to choose the best software in each category. You need to find a Google or Android fangirl to join the crew to combat the blind allegiance to all things Cupertino. The idea that Google
"Don't make me fucking run around here with thirty lbs of gear on in the hot sun." https://youtu.be/jnWZcdiX-SE?t=2m27s #blacklivesmatter If you watch the whole video you will see kids return a dropped flash light to another officer only to be thrown around be the criminal in the video. I get that the situation was fluid but the only thing these kids did was
"Pathways" innovation is good, but we also need to inspire students to be pathfinders, trailblazers. #VirginiaQuality #thoughtvectors — Gardner Campbell (@GardnerCampbell) June 9, 2015 @jgmac1106 Here the analogy breaks down a bit.... — Gardner Campbell (@GardnerCampbell) June 9, 2015 @jgmac1106 Too often we turn students' habitat of learning and interests i
@MozTeach I would suggest in no particular order (as CSS gets complicated) Movie Poster, the Business Card, The About Me Page, and Make a Meme. We design a web literacy basics curriculum for Club Captains focused on recruiting. Then a "Hello World" activity for members. Just choose the Thimble Makes that cover the basics and fit the clubs well.
So we had a #teachtheweb call today (note using hashtag to encapsulate the combined curriculum and teach like @mozilla calls around a shred goal) Here is my brief feedback: We had a new moderator today. It was great to work with Robert Friedman from Hive Chicago. Hope we don't lose the snarky banter, or at least just save it for the chat window, but working
@erinkelly12 @JimKellyInc Two heroes I wish I never had. So thankful for @HuntersHopeFDN for their support of CHOP in the fight against Leukodystrophies. The CHOP family made an impossible but inevitable journey a walk amongst courage, knowledge, hope, tears, goodbyes, and beginnings. Much love to my brother Bobby, hit wife Constanza and of course Baby Bobby
@politico #politics #corruption Only in Congress can you not do your job, get almost 100% job security, and then vote to give yourself a raise. Seriously I ask you to list the accomplishments of 114th congress. What landmark legislation has been passed or repealed? Beyond the doc fix, not much. Highway funding? Nope. Repeal or renewal of Patriot Act? Nope. R
I support John Oliver and thank him for his comments. I really do not understand those who fight for civil rights and equity in education fighting for standardized tests. I believe annual testing will survive ESEA renewal (if its renewed and pray it is so we can disarm Obama and Duncan) It is a circular argument. The tests show that scores are rising so we n
So we had our next leadership and learning (formerly Open Fluency Call) yesterday. Don't have time for a a full blog post so wanted to jot down a few thoughts. You can find the etherpad here . Not sure if there is an audio recording. Will post if it happens. Agreements (subject to change often) We will start thinking abut this as Open Web Leadership instead
Had a great #digped conversation today about evaluating tools. We talked about the primacy of pedagogy and how we evaluate our tool use. Here was my fav exchange How can we ensure the tools we implement benefit students and learning? How can we invite students to help evaluate tools? #digped — Hybrid Pedagogy (@HybridPed) May 1, 2015 @HistoryJack @HybridPed
