@mapkyca Do we need the feeds for now? I'd be happy if I published a follow post and the website gets scraped for an h-card and this gets added to the following page. Integrated social reader would be awesome (seems most code done) but may not be needed.
@clovis_cormoran Yep get a blog and post all the content.... Not to mention there is no point to turn machine readable words into inaccessible image. A sunset doesn't make it more true. Let's analyze and critique quotes. I am sure most pirates were illiterate anyways.
@sw4rn4v4 Proprietary software cutting off access to open standards and protocols not a good thing. We do a pretty good job here of bridging all the tools: https://indieweb.org/discuss plus you get Loqi https://indieweb.org/Loqi and Laja https://indieweb.org/User:Kaja.sknebel.net
@mapkyca @benwerd I was just about to start on a follow post type plugin but then remembered there was talk of "add a friend" in the reader integration. How much of that code still exist? Better to reuse that then think of a plugin?
@paulsq Don't confuse funding with revenue. Medium may have money to spend but very little of it is from customers exchanging cash for value.. Eventually all those LPs are going to want their money back. Medium is just blogger with q better stylesheet.
Most academic templates seem to ignore the tag in works cited oage but include a ton of schema stuff. When people do use the tag maybe not as intended in academic settings they use is for citations mainly sometimes in blockqoute and inline. just as common
Did a scan of academic folks I know who publish papers on their websites and most seem to wrap entire academic citations in ..which makes sense logically as each citation as start and a stop. Has to be someone parsing citations somewhere in digital humanities..or failing
@jgarber I also know many people use when citing images. I see this in the wild a lot on newspapers and when people cite creative commons image (default plugin settings). Though I assume many have no idea this functions as and just want small text.
@fourtonfish @jensimmons can you use css animation timers on this size of a grid container? Thinking I can could make some cool stuff using media queries and a grid container that shrinks and grows using a timer.
Splatoon and Mariokart are my jam. Nintendo screwed up my online account and didn't make the family plan. Can only use my son's till they fix...Been a few months
Please note this is only for a use case similar to mine: Archive your current site to a subdomain and put a new site on the domain. The rules will be different based on your goals..
So I wrote up my struggles, code, and goals into a blog post and dumped it into #IndieWeb dev chat https://chat.indieweb.org/dev/2018-12-25 and got https://chat.indieweb.org/dev/2018-12-26 for help. Admittedly I got the site working without fully understanding but shows how important networks are in terms of learning.
BTW don't follow this tutorial. None of my links work, and of course thye wouldn't how could a deleted redirect plugin point anywhere.....I need to think about how to best archive and redirect.
You begin with the wrong question. Don't write because you want "others to care" write about what you care about and if you push content those who have similar interest will find you. David Shanske is an encyclopedia of cool stuff! Get it out there. Set a challenge to write a 150 words a day for thirty days and go for it!
First step in the migration done. I wrote a quick tutorial here: https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/2018/12/24/how-to-archive-your-wordpress-blog
If I don't start now I won't finish challenge. I keep thinking of new template and new feeds I need to add. A website is never done, time to get it online.
