@manton Nice Job! I am excited for the search updates.
Greg McVerryGoing to write it up now but it was myself and @jeremycherfas comparing notes. We discussed how I removed open graph, getting html entities into status updates, and the main benefit of Known working rather than us.
Greg McVerry@Downes It is AMAZING!! I syndicate from my blog to Twitter so if you are scraping #el30 you might get duplicates of my post. If you do let me know and delete my rss feed.
Greg McVerry@jeremycherfas is busy but with soccer coaching over I want to try and leave IWC Berlin (remote) with a read and listen indo plugin I copy from your Watch post.....
Greg McVerry@film_girl f**k Newsletters. I get enough email. Be a rebel. Go back to your blog. They are still there. Fans can be intentional and add you to a reader if they wish.
Greg McVerry@ShortFormErnie If you have any resources for blogging/newsletter combos let me know. Will add to here: https://indieweb.org/newsletter we get the "how do I own my Newsletter question a lot" in #IndieWeb chat often some folks have figured ways to syndicate to template
Greg McVerrySo in this study of Cloud and knowing the Google iOS version most k12 schools live in I wonder what are the common pedagogical affordances between the two approaches. #el30
Greg McVerry@ShortFormErnie In all honestly that is what I did have from my WordPress site. Subscribers would get a weekly update. Did think about juts syndicating one kind of post type...but that felt like doing work....but do play with the new social readers sooo much fun
Greg McVerryMaybe CSS Highlight mentions with color Avoid ego count
Greg McVerry@wentale Luckily we all hang and spread like some rhizomatic weed. Not some fruit tree that must be groomed. Life carefully snuffed to maximize fertilization. Sterile silos. Much harder to kill when we all spread from our own domains. #el30 #edu106
Greg McVerryI do think with tools like Docker and changes to @github and seeing the direction @glitch is taking that we will see less and less of the local dev environment and coding and engineering that are collaborative first environments. #el30
Greg McVerry@ShortFormErnie We keep a list of CMS here but it looks like it needs some updating as I know we have articles for other CMSs not on the list https://indieweb.org/content_management_system
Greg McVerry@manton I will be at https://credcon.org in Austin. Hoping to talk about how I think encouraging #IndieWeb principles may be a better approach to credibility than any particular code. Will try to catch up possible a meetup.
Greg McVerry@mapkyca and @benwerd had a wonderful conversation about Known on Virtual Homebrew Website Club-Europe today and how with a few tweaks it will be the perfect engine to drive all the posting from micropub clients to our sites.
Greg McVerryI can't lie I try my best run from the command line and terminal #el30
Greg McVerry@ShortFormErnie Been CMS shopping myself as of late, looking at Perch Runway, Grav, Drupal...ended up going back to Known for my stream and going to use static site for homepages and long-form writing. Just too hard to get webmentions working on Ghost. I like webmentions make blogging fun again.
Greg McVerry@ShortFormErnie It's smart, in the inbox when they wake up and avoid spouse. When you used to have to add the retrieval data to stuff you found on the web for proper APA citations I always put Christmas Eve to make myself look like the hardest working academic out there.
Greg McVerry@ow This is exactly what people want in my site to my newsletter experience. Congrats. #IndieWeb
Greg McVerry@bradenslen Have you checked out fedwiki? Sounds much like the use case you describe. There is a WordPress version called wikity.cc
Greg McVerryEnjoy @schmarty sad to not be there but will be joining remotely. Say hello to everyone and build us some cool stuff.
