Greg McVerry@ShortFormErnie Been CMS shopping myself as of late, looking at Perch Runway, Grav, Drupal...ended up going back to Known for my stream and going to use static site for homepages and long-form writing. Just too hard to get webmentions working on Ghost. I like webmentions make blogging fun again.
Greg McVerryTalking containers, Virtual Box, and Docker. Those would be st=orm clouds compared to the commercial cloud we use. #el30
Greg McVerry@ShortFormErnie It's smart, in the inbox when they wake up and avoid spouse. When you used to have to add the retrieval data to stuff you found on the web for proper APA citations I always put Christmas Eve to make myself look like the hardest working academic out there.
Greg McVerry@ow This is exactly what people want in my site to my newsletter experience. Congrats. #IndieWeb
Greg McVerry@bradenslen Have you checked out fedwiki? Sounds much like the use case you describe. There is a WordPress version called wikity.cc
Greg McVerryI just got accepted to https://credcon.org Going to head down to Austin and discuss building a better web with some awesome folks.
Greg McVerryEnjoy @schmarty sad to not be there but will be joining remotely. Say hello to everyone and build us some cool stuff.
Greg McVerry@waricklanguage I agree. This is more for learning how to build your own #el30 environment...which is cool...if that is your goal....I think for most teachers and cloud we need to think of skills and dispositions needed to meld students with those goals.
Greg McVerry@GoogleGuacamole In hindsight catching a metaphorical bullet in the hind is bad, but not as rough as the literal ones.
Greg McVerry@remikalir Maybe its too personal a question as one person's healing text may be deeply rooted in their history but what "healing exemplar" texts would @ncte teachers suggest....and I define text writ large...movies, dance, song, art, graffiti, essays, blogs etc. #literacies https://hyp.is/qcnjOtyxEeinS9NQxqEqkQ/educatorinnovator.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/
Greg McVerryEveryone I am the process of migrating my blog, I haven't moved my podcasts over yet. If you want back episodes of 2toPonder you can find them here: https://jgregorymcverry.com/series/2toponder/ #literacies @#unboundeq #el30 #edtechchat
Greg McVerry@benwerd The code, the book or both? I share your dream..especially being able to tweak templates. Was looking at Perch Runway or https://github.com/gcushen/hugo-academic this but went back to Known for the same time constraint reasons. Don't have the capacity to learn plumbing and teach
Greg McVerry@MrBirdsall2020 Sorry I didn't see earlier. Most chats use a Q1 A1 format, but I generally ignore those and try to spark conversations with a few people rather than face the tyranny of the moderator. One strategy is to know who the moderator is and watch for questions
Greg McVerry@TaylorLorenz Any tool whose sole purpose is to collect data to appease people far from schools rips out my soul. #edtechchat
Greg McVerry@LScumpieru Welcome to #edtechchat
Greg McVerry@MrBirdsall2020 Warmest welcome to #edtechchat

Greg McVerryAnyone up for a pecha flickr zombie, monster, etc challenge? #edtechchat
Greg McVerry@ZorbitsMath Not sure learning is something I want to manage I'd rather give every kids a website than use an LMS #edtechchat
