Greg McVerry#indieweb @t: I can post a GitHub issue from my website. Then Bridgy talks to GitHub and publishes the comment on the issue.
Greg McVerry#indieweb @t: Introduces the the lightning rounds, there are three questions to answer: need your name, domain, and an optional cool feature you want to demo on your website described in a sentence or two.
Greg McVerryNotes from #IndieWeb Summit: http://jgregorymcverry.com/notes-from-indieweb-summit/ https://t.co/wvLonVA2C8
Greg McVerry#indieweb hertling: @doctorow compares privacy to water, but we know clean water is the domain of government, and individual can not do it., but what do you do when the government is the enemy of privacy?
Greg McVerry#indieweb hertling: We need to bring in more people and not talk to just developer (glad we have sessions on rethinking princeples).
Greg McVerry#indieweb hertling: What Angie realizes that she needs to work with other people to build what she wants. When I come back to #IndieWeb I see a group of committed people and I see the principles., but we desperatley need to get the world off of the big guys
Greg McVerry#indieweb hertling: I am a Gen one full stack developer who wants the gen4 experience because I am lazy.
Greg McVerry#indieweb @jgmac1106: IndieWeb focuses on the individual. Tapestry focus on the whole. IndieWeb doesn't think about monetization. Making money isn't bad.
Greg McVerry#indieweb hertling: If we want to get people off of facebook we need to give them an easy way to share what they want.
Greg McVerry#indieweb hertling: There are some important differences between the princeples of IndieWeb and what Angie built. These are important and I want to discuss these.
Greg McVerry#indieweb hertling: I tried to weave the princeiples of the #IndieWeb into the decentralized social web Angie built. When I wrote about tapestry I wanted to think about generation4 users.
Greg McVerry#indieweb hertling: In Kill Process, Angie uses her job at Tomo to profile domestic abusers, and then kills them. Angie decides her job is to destroy Tomo.
Greg McVerry#indieweb hertling: Who owns are data, and how is it processed is critical.
Greg McVerry#indieweb hertling: I am excited to be here because the #indieWeb has been so influential to what I write. (His book about Kill Process actually mentions the #IndieWeb).
Greg McVerry#indieweb aaronpk: That's my announcement for #IndieWeb social readers. Let's have fun with this.
Greg McVerry#indieweb aaronpk: Aperture as of this week is now open for public beta: https://aperture.p3k.io
Greg McVerry#indieweb cleverdevil: Together is a JavaScript for a client to handle the Social Web. It works as a Progressive Web App on @Android, kind of buggy on iOS but that's Apple's fault. @grantcodes did 90% of the work.
Greg McVerry#indieweb aaronpk: From Monocole, the reader I built, I can leave a comment, and you can see it as a post on my blog, in my reader, and as a comment on the original post.
Greg McVerry#indieweb aaronpk: RSS readers failed us when it comes to being able to respond to what we read. Twitter and facebook solved this. Where does it go? Your Twitter account. We never got that with RSS. That is what we are missing.
