@concentricsky and @ottonomy I am doing outreach for the #IndieWeb Summit June 29th-30th can you please share amongst your team and any in the #pdx tech or education scene? https://2019.indieweb.org/summit
@vuildco @lsanger why not 5. elsewhere? That is the heart of the POSSE model: publish on your own site syndicate elsewhere,. Allow the user to choose the sites that align with their needs and values.
Actually @concentricsky if you want to sponsor a meal or meet up at the Summit that would be great!. I think sponsorships available at the $300, $200, and $100 levels. Contact the organizers @aaronpk and @t if interested.
Besides we are all cousins. @EdCamp founded when few teachers in Philly walked into BarCamp. BarCamps co-founded by @t who then went on to form @Indiewebcamp with @aaronpk @caseorganic and http://skinnywhitegirl.com Let's bring movement together at #IndieWeb Summit
@EdcampPDX @tedrosececi @ccassinelli @ChrisHesselbein @actionhero @edteck @pipcorin As educators the philosophies of the #IndieWeb present our best opportunity. We need children to finish this sentence, "My url is.."
@EdcampPDX @tedrosececi @ccassinelli @ChrisHesselbein @actionhero @edteck @pipcorin We need educators to help us #takebacktheweb so our children don't grow up being molded by the algorithmic feeds of facebook and instagram. #TeachTheWeb to Save the World.
@EdcampPDX @tedrosececi @ccassinelli @ChrisHesselbein @actionhero @edteck @pipcorin Hello all we are organizing the #IndieWewb summit in #pdx on June 29-30th https://indieweb.org/2019 we should plan some concurrent meet ups or events.
@EdcampPDX @tedrosececi @ccassinelli @ChrisHesselbein @actionhero @edteck @pipcorin You can not know how truth gets shaped online until you begin to shape your own. Best thing we can teach students is to control identity, data, and connections. That is #IndieWeb
#edu407 here is a good example of feedback in the classroom and the use of peers to drive reflection: https://edu407666870492.wordpress.com/2019/05/11/giving-feedback-preparing-students-for-peer-review-and-self-evaluation/
Thank you for such the raw and honest writing. I hope you keep up blogging now that the two classes are over. I will try to figure out how to recreate the peer support in 305 in 407 next semester.
That isn't good or bad. It is the way assessment works in the classroom, but I am okay with trusting teacher judgment. In fact, I think teachers judgement is reliable enough ..meaning correlates...with other measures that we often waste too money on assessment. #edu407
Rubrics IMO do not make the greatest learning tool #edu407 when they are deployed as all the criterion at once. Pick targeted areas of growth from the rubrics for your students. Know what will help move each child closer to mastery on your stated objective.
https://boffosocko.com Look what I stumble across in my old teaching slideshow presentation from 2013: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1Z4jywGX-VuW41CxvsosmD54IXj77jL8ijiyGsBwzRiM/edit?usp=sharing
Hey #edu407 here is a criterion based rubric from Elizabeth , Katie, and Shannon https://docs.google.com/document/d/10F8ul-PvSOLm2kql4CGaBrWse5tbsc0sbNyJc41pSYA/edit you will notice the criterion as rows and the degrees of scale as columns but it seems more a rubric to judge your rubrics. So still pretty cool.
So what I always tried to measure in my class when working through novels or an interconnected reading and writing unit was the process that got students to the product rubrics are supposed to measure. #edu407
