Had no idea my off the cuff comment about Prezi would bring this much hate. How the fickle winds of #edtechchat turn
Greg McVerryWelcome, look well on your way already.
Greg McVerry@Media_Barber You might want to check that. I wonder if privacy policy is different I read: https://prezi.com/terms-of-use/#toc4#edtechchat I don't use it bc I like html slidedecks or gSlides in a pinch. Plus I hate throwing up.
Greg McVerryAsk your self are you modeling the practices we want to see in students? Do you practice critical reflection about learning on your blog? Do you network with people on networks not owned by corporate adtech firms. I tweet from a domain I own. https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com
Greg McVerry@KristenSevinsky Last thing I want is kids using tech the way see most adults using tech in schools. #edtechchat https://twitter.com/KristenSevinsky/status/996184621208559616
Greg McVerryCan someone give me a like or a reply? Testing my webmention functionality since moving to the latest GitHub repo from .9.9
Greg McVerry@nathan_stevens Awesome https://twitter.com/nathan_stevens/status/996187414229118979
Greg McVerryI am not sure we need to shift students to content creators and not consumers. Let's not lose the focus on critical consumption #edtechchat
Greg McVerryWe should schedule on #Edtechafterdark where people do @pechaflickr live and we stream it somehow. #edtechchat
Greg McVerryI am working on an course template shell that we can use in our classes. We all teach the same thing. We are talking about our students remixing and collaborating. Don't you think its about time we do the same? https://indiewebcoursetemplate.glitch.me/ #edtechchat
Greg McVerryAnyone know why I can get a page to open on a website I made in @glitch: https://indiewebcoursetemplate.glitch.me I have tried just the file extension and the entire url but it doesn't link. Here is remix link: glitch.com/edit/#!/join/dba8d63f-612a-4170-8cfe-eb4bf3accded
Greg McVerry@senorg I mean webmentions. Seriously though think we can make a really small verifiable credential with a permalink or two.
Greg McVerry@_gw Thanks. looks like somebody eklse already fixed it. My first @glitch project. I liked it.
Greg McVerrySo my long term goal is to help create a decntralized LMS powered by #inideweb tools and philosophies. To that end I needed to redesign my course templates. I started with my live course: https://edu307class.networkedlearningcollaborative.com and went at it. My first goal was to add h-card and h-event microformats. I then shared some of my progress and folks
Greg McVerry@sull The #indieweb WordPress workflow isn't bad at all. Folks wanted a visual to understand how all the plug-ins were related. This is the most basic set up. https://twitter.com/sull/status/995860965936820226
Greg McVerry@senorg Won't make #openbadges summit. Will be at #IndieWeb Summit same time. So o ISTE. Who knows maybe I come back with a webmentions badge platform
Greg McVerry@chealsye Just followed my way back to the #OpenStories Google Doc. My direction was off but that is easy to fix. That's copy and color. Been working on some underlying HTML using microformats2. This should provide enough metadata for the map UI you want... that is too above my skill. I can see the JavaScript with necessary form fields for users. Shouldn't b
Greg McVerryGot a surprise birthday present from my son when he said can I work on my blog too.
Greg McVerry@Protohedgehog I didn't get to dig through the MOOC deeply yet. In all my experiences I often add a Week Zero that offers a 1:1 guide with available coaching around key platforms. For #OpenScience for ex could be own domain, a bit of html, GitHub, etc https://twitter.com/Protohedgehog/status/995346705632636929
Greg McVerryHey @mte90 not sure what you are up to this #mozsprint but I am sure it is something WordPress related. Been helping to do some research on #indieweb plug-ins. Know of any users let me know (contributors for translation...better).
