@nagasaki45 @peepethApp @indiewebcamp I would say @microdotblog @pineblog Does require payment so that may violate your definition of lock-in but it all exports HTML so it fits for me aren't looking for #IndieWeb building blocks included then Tumblr, way easier and more set for microblogging than @wordpressdotcom
@BryanAlexander Morning @bryanAlexander...if you didn't see I discovered a third path to innovation in #highered beyond death and retirement, a global pandemic Way better catalyst of change than the committee for online learning
@IESResearch In terms of what best predicts student outcomes and success online: -simple, predictable course navigation -teacher presence and interaction (these two flip flop back and forth) -frequent checks for understanding -social presence opportunities for students
@iesresearch call for research about online and remote learning AND student outcomes, my feed: https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/content/bookmarkedpages?q=%23online here's the thing good teaching = good teaching, just do the stuff you normally do in class, no dichotomy f2f vs online
@dogtrax I am tracking the poligy on my children lit wiki https://bit.ly/3brEAoL many are waiving it, nobody will start a "fair use" fight during a pandemic...you would come off as a total Jerky McJerkface
@Ferrum_of_omega I pinged you on LinkedIn after seeing your note about the freeboid data science team, may have an opportunity that fits the skillset, not climate related, but matches much of what folks do
@jshoja @ewindover A reflection on a virtual conference we were doing today in Accra, Ghana.. https://bit.ly/2UnBso8 our tips and ideas on remote conferences: https://bit.ly/2UqnAtc
@jshoja @ewindover I run virtual conferences and attend hyrbid sessions all the time. We do breakout room. Going to use this next: https://bit.ly/3dx71mW
@KCTesterman Not really more embedded, we start by examining shapes of stories in pop culture..well I guess a little bit before..sometimes during...never after. #satchat
@KCTesterman But at the same time I embed so many critical skills to ensure success, studentents foucs on text structure, note taking skills, learn to use matrix analysis, and HTML, video editing, photography. The choice means students enjoy struggle with hard content #satchat
@KCTesterman Here is the class: We go "tell your story, learn something, teach something, do something" I scaffold basic #edtech skills in through the four module and give control over to assignment content. #satchat https://bit.ly/2QLmq9z
@kcalderw @DrKatrinaAdkins Not me, if I I have a snow day that means I also have a ton of snow to move, maybe no power, def spotty internet....I can't be behind a laptop for 8 hours
@EDUcre8ive Anyway to just bump the 30 day educator free trial to 60 day to get through semester? Easier than telling each person to fill our form requesting a free account.
@SCSU @screencasto It was a great session, trying to stress that people who can't make your 2 hour synchronous class don't want to spend two hours watching people sit in class. Boil down to the key learning and use cool tools for active learning techniques (or email tool unnecessary...but fun)
@educationgadfly @MoskowitzEva @SuccessCharters yeah, instead of worrying and debating about a packet phase (not a phase), training phase, online phase, just went right with we are using phones and direct contact, rolled out program in days commendable
@dogtrax @glitch Learning the ukulele, can barely play two notes, know I can't sing but this will be first song I write: xhttps://twitter.com/jgmac1106/status/1243249206388801540
@dogtrax Went stir crazy yesterday, feeling a little blue, called my Dr. They told me to listen to reggae, it worked Here is my @glitch poetry collection: https://bit.ly/3aoE8aC
