@dajbelshaw @sunnydeveloper Come play with webmention badges with me and let's get back to #BadgeAllTheThings and just do it from our own Domain. Let the credibility come from the name behind the url... They work well, building a prototype issuer this summer.
@wentale Thanks was also looking for a way to teach how we read documents in science, learn specialized academic vocabulary, play with poetry, and engage with critical literacy . Here is the corresponding lesson plan I am working on: https://docs.google.com/document/d/14Pm5c6L8hCYGx5oRV3royGf9PH0QEOlcKI_eyh3BJqU/edit?usp=sharing #clmooc
@open_ory No thank you, never thought about using an audio file in conjunction to explain an inforgraphic. Totally using that idea. I also think with updates to CSS Grid someone can make a friendly HTML infographic maker that will work for everyone
Here is a quick tutorial on making and sharing graphic organizers with Google Draw: https://archive.org/details/edu407summer19/makeagraphicorganizer.mp4 #edu407Sum19 #literacies #edtechchat #edchat
@open_ory Other option is to always explain an infographic in plain text or in tables in the same post. Text is the most universal of all things in UDL. I tried to do that here: https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/2019/03/03/innovation-systems-and-system-network-agent-theory-and-indieweb
Earlier this month I declared the horsefly the antagonist of my #clmooc #feldgang. Naturally I had to do some poetry...so I tried to describe the most annoying thing in my physical world with the most annoying thing in the digital world... horseflies link to recording in case iframe is getting stripped out. The vanity of tabanidae Dive bombing Dipterous Of d
Blackboard tip: If you are adding an @internetarchive video using the WYSIWYG editor click on the button, choose HTML5 video, cut and paste the link it but change /details/ to /download/ otherwise video will not work. #HigherEd #edtechchat
@open_ory I see the rise of infographics as antithetical to UDL due to their accessibility concerns, must end up as a jpg or png screen readers can't read...Though I think someone could build a CSS/HTML infographic generator that would be accessible to our #a11y friends.
@sunnydeveloper go with Badgr if you are evaluating platforms, I started to try and make webmention badges so I could avoid the whole mess and just own my credentialing from my own domain
Proud of my @scsu students who took up the challenge to combine poetry, technology, and critical literacy into multimedia poems. Here is a cool example: https://ryleebblog407.wordpress.com/2019/07/30/module-9-participate-7-29-multimedia-poem/
Want overview on good, bad, and ugly of rubrics? Here is a post: https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/2019/07/24/criterion-vs-holistic-rubrics-edu407sum19 a video overview: https://archive.org/details/edu407summer19/WritingRubrics.mp4 and a stream of me making a model: https://archive.org/details/edu407summer19/MakeARubric.mp4 #digped #literacies #edtec
@Doug_Lemov Looking forward to reading the report...but the claim this is "new research no one has done"...not too sure https://scholar.google.com/scholar?q=teacher+perceptions+of+discipline&hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C7&am... and much of it actually peer reviewed rather than think tank research
@RafranzDavis Sorry if I came off debating..it was a random thought as I was typing....and it is very odd and very niche to be into a band that openly licenses content...It's either hardcore or hippie music...usually very white and English.
@RafranzDavis wait...now that I think about it...almost all the music I listen to is available for free on the @internetarchive and I publish a feed of the torrents I am currently seeding... There is a pathway to success for musicians who openly license.
