@cortlandt This is why I believe in Boston to New York as the next great tech corridor....I guess still great and always great technical corridor, and we got Connecticut in between surging as a high-tech economy and remaining a great place to live.https://twitter.com/cortlandt/status/1089981359874076672
@PACESconsulting protection from the patent portfolio is a huge member benefit... Don't want to fear patent trolls or our members suing... Then pay up...
@netsensei microformats Was? I would go with microformats is. Every #IndieWeb site uses microformats and I would venture more consumers exists in the wild for semantic HTML than any kind of hidden Metadata not meant for humans.
Excited to here https://david.shanske starting to work on a fork of @ClassicPress...seems WordPress wants to be in the platform and publishing business more than focused on bloggging and small indie site.
Excited to experiment with @ClassicPress research team to test if we can build native #IndieWeb support....SOO many bloggers want to use all the tools of the modern social web. Hopefully we have better success with @ClassicPress than @WordPress
@PACESconsulting 100% Standards DO cost time and money and we don't have the companies releasing employees for work like many w3c standards and tech giants but I just believe member recruitment rather than member-only benefits aligns better to my values
Can anyone figure out what I did wrong on this podcast eposide: https://stuffedworld.dogzone.jgregorymcverry.com/ I can't get @pocketcast to crawl my son's feed link-> https://stuffedworld.dogzone.jgregorymcverry.com/feed.xml
@PACESconsulting I get that, and it is why I will add to @ReviewTalentFS all our best practice anyways. I just worry instead of non members taking advantage they could be taken advantage of... Who looks after students and the web? Will check out ed-fi
@dhh on fiew in terms of believing in an HTML first, own your data, control your story... Half expecting the next post to say even your metadata should be human readable and in HTML.
@mozilla took an open source standard and handed off to @imsglobal, want to contribute to "open standard" become a paying member...ohh btw Pearson and Credly got a patent for this open source standard you worked on for years. Want patent coverage now? pay due$$
OMG just came from the help desk. They are renaming our secure network to SSL.... Huh? Do folks work in IT??.. .you don't help a certificate hand off problem naming your network after popular certificates.... Only State #HigherEd IT could do this
@PACESconsulting @projunicorn I don't trust any of the #edtech standards boards. The vocabularies around #OER secretive, messy, more talk than implementation and the Everyone talking metadata and interoberability but nobody building. #openbadges debacle to shady.
Nobody's got a thing against you Unless you've got something to prove We don't need no set of standards We don't need a new set of rules Heard all that shit before, about stomping out any difference We say stand together, (Not to fight just to exist) Operation Ivy-Take Warning
