@francesbell Hybrid involves two things and I think the space as much of the people work as mentor and teacher when the model works well, but yeah any time we can get away from email and 2fa on a phone for verification the better.
Wow!! So exciting. In my past experience I wish I learned to Start small, go for a meet up or a homebrew website club before an @IndieWebCamp. Just takes two people and a wifi connection to get going. Will share all the stuff of book clubs and dat night with you
@hardfire Bunch of folks in the #IndieWeb community tracking books and reads. Check out https://indiebookclub.biz/ there is going to be dat night event during the Summit in #PDX this weekend. Maybe folks can talk about read posts.
such a wonderful time as Micro Monday guest, podcast of @microdotblog. https://monday.micro.blog/2019/06/24/episode-greg-mcverry.html Discussed upcoming #IndieWeb summit and blogs as a Commonplace Book #digped #iste19 #literacies #edtechchat
What the @goifoundation is doing in Ghana is pretty cool. We raised $200, that's it and they are able to provide on the ground training, websites to participants, and a wiki for shared knowledge and locally created and curated #oer.
@francesbell I read thread and thought, "How could a library support this woman?" And thought if libraries offered programs that trained patrons and provided hosting issues such as "comfort around a keyboard" and identity get resolved. Not a 2fa through phone fan
@peterjlambert As an FYI your link to the descriptive list MDN page in the awesome HTML is the web article great!! goes to w3school and not MDN. Here is the correct link https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/dl
@femedtech would it help the woman applying for the job, no, that is immediate and thankful we have wonderful people like @lisackaplan in the world. I just mean it as a solution for a better web and thus a better world. Let's root #literacies in libraries
@francesbell 1. I don't have answer except maybe proxy emails? Though if you want a job and it requires an email address, get one. 2fa on phone....well never a fan, 2. Smart people working on this: https://w3c-ccg.github.io/did-spec/ (I just lurk)
@femedtech and @francesbell, especially for #oer and the rest of the world coming online and believing facebook is the web. Recognize asking folks to do work for the greater good takes privilege but we know what kind of hybrid learning environments work best
Here is a quick diddy for the #clmooc #ds106dailycreate #ds106 crowd https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/2019/06/25/that-old-blog-code .....if someone made a video remix wouldn't be offended at all.
@francesbell Trying to gather t anonymity workflow stuff we find here: https://indieweb.org/anonymity In the #IndieWeb community folks built this tool for anonymous posting betwen sites: https://indieweb.org/commentpara.de
@francesbell this is the grant that @cogdog and I put in https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_VQSHkKKIj-m8OAsZP7ASGN3jlNXgjXWLQoJQjI4-Ks/edit it wasn't funded, but to me a hyper local web is a better route to decolonizing than anything "decentralized, federated..or other buzzword"
@femedtech and we did put in a few issues in December with @wikipedia hoping they add IndieAuth, so if a library did provide patrons with a domain they could log in without needing an email address or phone, just use a url.
@francesbell Hear that. Email stinks because email works. Thank you so much for volunteering as an IT buddy!! What a great idea as a way to give back. I really want to recenter the web in schools and libraries. It's where #literacies belong
