This is literally what schools and libraries have done for centuries. Go read the history of "English curriculum" we read all those classics and literature to "learn to be a man" or "human experience" (and to make sure The Governor's kids weren't overly influenced by the strange ways of natives)...

This is also why I believe to #TakebackTheWeb we need to rebuild or actually build the local web. Create tools to allow communities to flourish. Give schools and libraries chances to seed websites in the community and promote civic standards.
We read fables and children's books to learn lessons. We write to put ourselves into the world. Why should the web be different? Let's recognize and protect the literate traditions by viewing the web as an archive and architect of our communities.
Which brings me full circle back to https://jacky.wtf/ Baldwin quote, and thinking about defining literate practices and literary lineage. Who are the prominent Black bloggers of the last two decades? What prolific profiles would you share in your linkage?
