@HiveLearningNYC When you sit down to work and then forget you told the neighbor you would help move furniture for a few hours. 🍅⏱⏹ (http://jgregorymcverry.com/4761-2/)
@csarven I am an old model UN nerd. Plurality and good governance are rooted in good documentation. The new mf2 admins announced take community standards pretty serious. They also overlap with those frequently at IWC leadership events. Always hope for a better… http://jgregorymcverry.com/4759-2/
@HiveLearningNYC Yesterday was a wash. First the computer borked and then had to spend the day at the vet. Got to write some found poetry as feedback to my students in children’s lit but that is about it. Excited to complete student made modules. Starting with finalizing… http://jgregorymcverry.com/4757-2/
@csarven Thx, and FWIW I mentioned in the -meta channel that maybe snarky article stubs for fun bot games aren’t really aligned with the principles nor the Code of Conduct (which does need explicit mentions of documentation). Finding examples where snark moves… http://jgregorymcverry.com/4754-2/
@csarven Very valid points. Discourse patterns matter. I am not an editor on mf wiki nor understand 83.4%. Looking at http://indieweb.org wiki the CoC focuses on people not documentation. Should be both. If you find articles you feel do not meet community… http://jgregorymcverry.com/4750-2/
@csarven Thank you for the conversation this morning. Need to go feed my kids, but yes #IndieWeb willing to ignore the way rest of the world to things to build our little corner of the web. Hopefully everything stays interoperable (http://jgregorymcverry.com/4748-2/)
@csarven @fsteeg @schnarfed I started by looking at Metadata being used in #OpenEd spaces. This brought me to learn about JSON-LD and http://schema.org. Looked impossible to implement. Found mf2 said, “I can do that.” (http://jgregorymcverry.com/4745-2/)
@csarven Okay found https://indieweb.org/RDF and yes it does open with a bit of Snark for bot fun in chat. I agree maybe not the best approach when describing a web standard widely adopted. (http://jgregorymcverry.com/4743-2/)
@csarven Cool will find you on freenode. I am @jgmac1106 there as well. Always happy to learn more, but it is the values more than tech that draw me to #IndieWeb (http://jgregorymcverry.com/4741-2/)
@csarven @fsteeg @schnarfed Thank you @csarven for the Convo. Really want to understand all the perspectives behind the tech. (http://jgregorymcverry.com/4739-2/)
@csarven @fsteeg @schnarfed I just love that I can carry on this conversation from my blog because of webmentions. All I need to know is h-card and h-entry. I look at specs on http://schema.org for learning and my head explodes.. So much metadata (http://jgregorymcverry.com/4737-2/)
@csarven @fsteeg https://indieweb.org/Linked_Data_Notifications Seems to be all we have for #LinkedData on #IndieWeb wiki. Will keep poking. Generally curious. @schnarfed has been looking at ways to play in Fediverse. (http://jgregorymcverry.com/4735-2/)
@csarven @fsteeg When I click on the @socialwebwg in you pinned tweet I see the same faces from #IndieWeb community. Maybe the cues the same but Metadata slightly different? Again not a technical person. Just a blogger who loves the #IndieWeb tools and values (http://jgregorymcverry.com/4731-2/)
@csarven @fsteeg I know, or at least feels this way since I am active in both communities, tension among #webannotation folk and #IndieWeb community. Don’t know the history but also do not think we need an either or situation. (http://jgregorymcverry.com/4729-2/)
@csarven @fsteeg Many systems include both RDF and mf2. Can use WordPress, Ruby on Rails, Jekyl, Plurd, Drupal, SSG.. So seems agnostic. Relying on HTML seems like a great path to plurality… Not the most technical person FYI.. Learning. (http://jgregorymcverry.com/4726-2/)
