Greg McVerryFirst bumblee of the season. Struggling between window frames. Opened storm window. Hoping she finds way to freedom.
Greg McVerry@michellek107 never liked term web 2.0. I just keep seeing all these bloom taxonomy posts and web 2.0 post. must also be critical of Bloom
Greg McVerryI love all the twiiter chatter about Bloom's taxonomy and Web 2.0, but I question the individual model of taxonomies. Isnt web 2.0 social?
Greg McVerry@JasVicious Yeah but if you watch the news it is much safer to be a black child. Bad things only happen to pretty white women #BlackEdu
Greg McVerry@ChitownStu Yes I just wonder how we serve students by defining as "critical thinking" versus academic discourse. Dont have answer.
Greg McVerry@ChitownStu one could be a successful problem solver outside of school but not schooled in the ways of schooling.
Greg McVerry@AndreaZellner Also Rick Beach publishes an annotated Bib each year in RTE. That could be a resource to find studies.
Greg McVerry@AndreaZellner It is time consuming but you squirell away alot of studies. We should gather crew and do it and organize Mendely or Zotero
Greg McVerryThe other strategy I use is to pick a journal say JLR or RRQ and start at Vol 1 Issue 1 and scan the TOC until current issue.
Greg McVerry@dropoutnation Value-added also opposed because the assessments necessary for that type of modeling do not exist yet #BlackEdu
Greg McVerry@AndreaZellner I know that IES has put out a call for developmental writing grants so hopefully that will change. IES almost 100% quant.
Greg McVerry@AndreaZellner Ha Ha Ha! Really is based on existence and the act that assessing writing often uses single item assessment
Greg McVerryI would suggest using the #nwp hashtag but they would prolly throw you out 4 looking at writing from a quant perspective
Greg McVerry@AndreaZellner Yes it should whether you are from the Graves or Caulkins camp feedback conferencing and feedback req. but neither use quant
Greg McVerryhttp://bit.ly/i0Kp0K probably already did this but scholar link. I would also look at "writing assessment" decide which count as feedback
Greg McVerry@jgmac1106 Oops I combined the links

Greg McVerry@AndreaZellner I would spend my time not in Writing Next report but in the refernces. Find quant studies there.
