I agree with @BillSeitz on #IndieWeb @vgr a lot of of options describing what you suggest. You could do @microblogdotcom as turnkey, use a Known sight or WordPress with a bit of work, or Jekyll, or anything you heart desires to spin up.
@brianmcc Amazon's HQ2 had nothing to do with tax breaks or hiring pool. Bezos driven by customers. And there is no bigger data customer than the government and the financial sector. I think the store ancillary in decision.
If you get chance cover the AWS Public Sector event. CIA's CTO often gives keynote, talking billions in federal data. Crystal City is about Defense spending. Queens...there will be dedicated pipes going across the river to all the banks and markets.
Think we close to being able to create more frictionless people driven set of website and blogging tools. Though beginning to think we tool the wrong lesson from Web 2.0. It was "Now no one needs to learn HTML" it shoudl ahve been "Now everyone needs to"
Bridgy Fed is not the easiest to set up. I never added to my WordPress site actually. You best bet is to stop by the -dev or -WordPress channels on https://chat.indieweb.org
@Cambridgeport90 Anyone with@microdotblog has ActivityPub feed you can use to connect to stuff like Mastodon. On WordPress you use OStatus plugins and be your own instance like @jgmac1106@jgregmcverry.com and then you use Bridgy Fed: https://fed.brid.gy/
@cogdog like having all the archives searchable on https://chat.indieweb.org an off-record channel that isn't archived. Granted it takes a team of super nerds to run but having a wiki connected to a super smart bot its best learning workflow I have found online
@benjystanton will there be an h-card on your footer? I just ask as I see no author info in your h-entry. I am doing tje same thing you are doing right now: https://github.com/jgmac1106/homepage
@benjystanton You may want to check on best practice in the -dev channel. Maybe best to include th h-card in your h-entry as well here is my example: https://github.com/jgmac1106/homepage/blob/master/articletemplate.html
benwerd @mapkyca @cleverdevil if any one gets a free second over next few days can you check out what I did wrong here: https://github.com/jgmac1106/idno-read https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/read/edit gives this error Class 'IdnoPlugins\Read\Read' not found I think mistake around line 32 of main.php
