@grabaperch notes their templates do require a title, not sure how to handle posts that best practices (like notes) recommend no title? Says it discoverability in the CMS interface. I would need titleless posting as a pre-req
Is anyone else hanging #IndieWeb style powered by @grabaperch? Looks like no native micropub support, and would need some love to connect to microsub readers but I just want a box where I type HTML and it becomes a post.
@cswordpress @miklb Everything is broken on my site. I am officially calling WordPress bankruptcy . Classes are over, just need to export my vita, a few articles from Medium, add a redirect plugin throw the site on an archive subdomain and walk a way forever.
Haven't even finished my @wordpress migration and already thinking maybe @grabaperch way to go (to be fair I have always weighed this decision). Has webmention support, and I am building out how I'd want my site look on @glitch https://jgmac1106homepage.glitch.me
Really my "box" I want for #IndieWeb publishing should be your browser. Why File>New>Type some HTML>Publish isn't a feature of modern day browsers boggles my mind. Always the dream @toolness @iamjessklein and I shared in the hackasaurus days
How are you adding classes? On an individual post or at template level? I have been fooling and learning about the #ClassicPress team. Might be something to watch. Maybe even a playground with all our shiny old toys.
Beware of rabbit holes, suchtime suck. Went to write a quick post about likes and endorsements, found neither blog marks up a like post type correctly then spent time researching if had skills and time to spin up my own minimal CMS..an hour later nothing done
Except I will have to keep one version of any working #IndieWeb theme for making tutorials and helping out community so I will still have to get my hands dirty.
Took a break, by break, never really started the h-resume remix for my students, it was a good cause....On a rainy day my son said he had an app idea and wanted to try. We did. He wrote about here: http://dogzone.jgregorymcverry.com/2018/update-on-my-app
I have made progress on webmention badges. In fact we can now issue webmention badges from https://indieweb.org the #IndieWeb wiki directly to someone's Badge page like mine https://jgregorymcverry.com/badges How cool is that? Imagine a fandom wiki where you can develop a set of badges for a contributor and as soon as you make the wikipage the badge shows up
@khurtwilliams The redirect plugins will work, end user won't know a thing, by owning analytics I mean the markup does exist for everything a business needs, no one ever has but being able to track and parse reviews and items is easy.
@scott_gruber I worry I wouldn't have the skill, been laying out my website in plain HTML here: https://jgmac1106homepage.glitch.me micropub/microsub support a must..I can make templates for all the post types.
@cswordpress We know that SemPress is compatible with Gutenberg and 5.0, 2016-IndieWeb as well. The post-kind plugin is 5.0 compatible but does not work with Gutenberg. You have to use the classic editor. #IndieWeb
