Hey all Greg from East Haddam, CT, glad we talking remote learning, you don't have to be plugged in to learn. #satchat and working on my list of best Bass players http://longthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/doku.php?id=musichour
@wentale We are going to do "Flower Moon" as the entire next episode, you and @tutormentorteam pretty much wrote the entire show. Going to bump documentary history poems to the 5th episode.
Another cool thing a bunch of us doing: curating a wiki for literature and literacy: https://www.childrensliteraturewiki.jgregorymcverry.com/doku.php Have your #highered or #k12 students join and post book reviews, join yourself and share ideas #satchat
@BernsteinCT One shift for me was the steady grind. Online learning was driven by periods of brief hyper focus, we need to teach our students how to learn to learn remotely #satchat
Fewer apps and technology make remote learning hands-on. The only technology that seems to work with best almost all the time is pencil and paper #satchat
@3_DLeadership I gave my students a choice of three pathways: video, photo, podcasting, web design. They get a taste of each dish then can grab what they want from buffet line: https://edu106.jgregorymcverry.com/

@njtestingradar Part of adjustment to moving online is learning not everything needs feedback, especially discussions. With small groups in classroom can you listen and leave feedback to every group at same tine? Nope. #satchat
Just blog, have your students blog, you learn out loud and model how you build a Common Place book, I have a quick thoughts blog, a long thoughts wiki, and my name as my domain. Give kids blogs #satchat https://indieweb.org/commonplace_book
Right after #satchat I am recording the #GlokalYokel Poetry hour for #ds106radio (won't be live bc of time zones) but soo many teaching ideas already for the episode: http://longthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/doku.php?id=glokal_yokels_episode_three
#poemsofpresence I follow your shadows. footprints too heavy for me to carry slipping past trail markers hanging, you carry on amongst spring growth clinging to rock flowing to the lake shore. life carries on, no matter who leads
Ohh folks trying to join the literature and literacy wiki, I had to remove unverified sign ups for security. If you or your students want to join just contact me: https://www.childrensliteraturewiki.jgregorymcverry.com/doku.php #satchat
My son Ben has been sharing some of his "hands on" remote learning from his blog: https://dogzone.jgregorymcverry.com/ ( he has podcasts where he itnerviews his stuffed animals too). #satchat
Principle 1: Good teaching = good teaching regardless of medium or mode , Principle 2: Remote learning isn't alone, Principle 3: Feedback and Reflection drive everything #satchat
