seems every #oer group trying to build "THE" platform for #openpedagogy. We have a platform...the web...what we need is a commitment to open protocols, existing tools ,and easier deployment. Stop building for the masses and make more silos. design for you and yours
Hey @goifoundation I just added the tinymce editor so folks just joining us who do not know wikimedia markup yet can edit the pages. Tried to install the visual editor seems like a lot of overhead or a bunch of javascript kruft
Honesty the use of Parsoid and the visual editor seems like adding a ton of unnecessary overhead for a rich text editor, love the power of parsers but predicting the maintenance tax going to be way too high for small #oer communities. Back to TinyMCE is
The Parsoid documentation needs some help. The page says the tutorial no loner works and to read the Discussion page but there isn't really any updated information
Screenshot of my site with hypothes.is open. You can see pictures of annotations on a poem. To see the text in the screenshot open on the tab on the side.
I just want to install the visual editor, the discussion page of a wiki is a really bad place for documentation: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/VisualEditor/Installation_on_a_shared_host @goifoundation
Anyone using @reclaimhosting have any tutorials on installing the visual editor for a wikimedia install? Do I need to create a node.js app to run Parsoid? Thinking a may just fall back on tinyMCE #openpedagogy #DoOO #Domains19
https://masssly.goifnetwork.org/ I added the tinyMCE extension to our @wikimedia install for @goiffoundation, going back to creating member @withknown sites, we should chat about what file uploader extension to install.
