Wow @wikispaces is closing shop. They were there for all the early years and I used them at almost every professional development institute I offered. Thanks all. #edtechchat
@geekgirldiva If you read into the budget they don't even pay for delivery of the boxes. That would be up to states to figure out. I am all for connecting SNAP to local agriculture but boxes of processed food is something only a Perdue chicken man could come up wit.
Tech brought in sense of tinkering that we lost in school. Writing should still be this way tweaking words like code. It's all text structure. I find poetry in Python. #edtechchat
@nathan_stevens @LaTiYoda @mrterborg @try_rebooting just call all your test quizzes. Trust me it works and you can still record your fake points in Grade School for needy parent. #edtechchat
@mrterborg We too often turn to sight words. K students recognizing a 100 sight words? Personal opinion but focus on decoding first then sight words, but K is good time to introduce #edtechchat
@nathan_stevens We now get to see folks failure on a massive scale almost instantly. Kind of scary for kids facing collapsing contexts of school, peers, and society. #edtechchat
Here is the truth. Opinions of reading are pretty set by 1st grade and almost impossible to change after 4th grade. #edtechchat We must have students succeed with words (Tech is a literacy issue not a tool issue)
Final shameless trolling plug of the night. I have room in my calendar, bring me to your school. Let's do something cool. http://bit.ly/2vgoBVl #edtechchat
