Greg McVerry@OtisTheGoodGoat We don't know much about the motives yet. Statistically I lean more towards someone mad at Kirk for not being far-right enough, and the bullet markings do trend Groyper. Either way nobody should ever condone political violence. There we all agree. That's a defensible line.
Greg McVerry@JonnyRoqqet You do see "loss of confidence" quite often when someone loses a command without much explanation. That is true.
Greg McVerryPolitical Violence is always wrong. Online Radicalization in neonazi, Groyper and Nihilistic communities that push "Saints Culture" is a national security threat. Political extremism and violence is almost always far-right. All of those are true. The first point matters most
Greg McVerry@RealPData Saying political violence is always wrong?
Greg McVerry@AmericanPurrl @LoveMeSomeTX I didn't say it was new. I just can't recall a time when every single Secretary came out on social media to explain a policy around speech and the criticism of a civilian. Seems out of the norm. Thanks for helping me understand.
Greg McVerry@OtisTheGoodGoat I agree, but what makes the line of criticism of Charlie Kirk as a person or his role in January 6th and mocking? I just can't think of another example. Why just this political assassination?
Greg McVerry@coocoocthulu That's a good explanation.
Greg McVerry@Sarcasm_Sells Did they publicly say they would go after anyone who criticized the Minnesota politicians? I am looking for prior examples of en masse discipline for criticizing a civilian murder victim.
Greg McVerry@TreyK4570 Yes. This I figured. Just wondering why this time and not for any other civilian murder. What makes this case different?
Greg McVerry@ingovernable1 I never said you couldn't limit speech. I asked for examples of en masse punishments for criticizing a civilian. Why just this civilian? Why not after the Minnesota murders? Those were politicians. Don't forget all the JAGs fired, and ton of lawyers on loan to ICE.
Greg McVerryMust have been studying critical theory electricity. https://t.co/FFXvIrTX1R
Greg McVerry@ingovernable1 Protecting assets is not the same as en masse punishment for criticizing a civilian, don't be daft.
Greg McVerry@coocoocthulu @LoveMeSomeTX Funny thing the guy who went after Bill Clinton for Monica Lewinsky is also the guy who let Jeffrey Epstein get away.
Greg McVerry@Dai10zin What is the difference between "mock" and criticize someone. Just using the language of the OGP
Greg McVerry@Faakew2 But how many times have those policies been enforced en masse for criticizing a civilian? Since you have more knowledge surely you are a better source than me on examples?
Greg McVerry@gillman_ja48237 @LoveMeSomeTX Was it for not following orders or talking about Covid? I don't know the data on how many separations their were over Covid.and how many were over talking about Covid and how many were about not sticking to the vaccine schedule.
Greg McVerryThe party THAT voted to protect the Epstein Files, also voted to get more of Trump's team in place in bulk confirmation. Think on that. Why would they do that? What is Thune trying to hide? https://x.com/LeaderJohnThune/status/1966250575621963940
Greg McVerry@LoveMeSomeTX I understand the claim and how the UCMJ can be used, but tell me when has this happened so publicly in the past when large groups of Service members are said to face discipline for comments about a civilian?
Greg McVerryAnd this is what Kirk did with Professor Watchlist. They would be published and look all official like But a seedy underbelly of far-right trolls starts harassment campaigns. This is the same playbook. https://x.com/RepAdamMorgan/status/1966621193617674509
