@nathan_stevens and you answer an older question. Those Hummingbird bots look a lot like they run on Scratch code...May need to beg school to order #edtechchat
@nathan_stevens Let the existing passion drive the STEM and code, for some this will be STEM and Code but for most it maybe video games, art, sports, etc. #edtechchat
@MichaelPetrilli I also see that graph and it looks like majority of material ranked mediocre or good not poor or mediocre...62+27>10+62, 46+39>46+9, 48+30>48+15 not sure I understand table heading....
@Todd_Conaway On a mission to squelch the use of the word "easy" as well...and I cringe as I use it when describing how to use flexbox (like literally just now in a recording) to add images to student portfolios....Efficient....I like that change....
Ask them again if they want to be told buy a flight on 2 days notice, without any idea on reimbursement procedures, then go through two day interview and not get picked because professor A liked you but professor or B hates A so he voted you down.
but maybe, it's okay not to....or allow students to work on inquiry projects in content areas building ideas for bots rather than the bots themselves as they wouldn't have the skills to use bots in meaningful disciplinary ways..not sure? #edtechchat
Need a great hour of code project? Why not build a website to show off all the cool stuff you do code or not code https://buildyourfirstwebsitelessonplans.glitch.me #edtechchat #cs4all
The section describing inter rater agreement a bit weak. So caution folks when drawing conclusions. Had to agree on yes/no? How many yes/no were contested? "Encouraged to discuss" to 2 band differences...were they not resolved?
@girlziplocked he may even bequeath the university a gift. Seems more common in schools with minor league football teams...like most art school grads probably like F that place.
Another tip might be to hire faculty who actually know how to teach...might help the whole instructional design shortage you have....teachers call that writing lesson plans....somebody else invented the fancy pants words #HigherEd
@MichaelPetrilli Thanks for the link digging in now, love the idea of a rating system, been doing some work with @hypothes_is and #credweb with annotating websites for credibility we should think of a system for annotating online learning materials.
@Todd_Conaway Dont charge other #highered depts. for doing the job you were hired to do...if so I want to charge a per student advising fee, a per committee fee, a per journal reviewed fee....charge everyone all the fees....or fully fund #highered, sounds better
Hey #edu407fall19 #edu407 some questions on writing the assessment section of your lesson plans: Your assessment should do a few things: First it must measure your stated objective Second the assessment must cover the key content of the lesson Third it must be sensitive enough elicit evidence of knowledge growth in students. Fourth if you use a performance a
Hey #edu106 I published two more tutorials for your portfolio assessment: how to add images in @glitch and how to make a photo grid using flexbox: https://jgregorymcverry.com/videos/AddImagestoGlitch.mp4 and https://jgregorymcverry.com/UsingFlexBox.mp4 #edtechchat #WeekOfCode #cs4all
@Todd_Conaway What happens when you leave all those learning engineers laying around campus with nothing to do but invent words to publish for nobody to read.
