@Bali_Maha B,F,D,D....see a pattern? was unintentional, but almost alphabetic..And bottom line, yes @baha_mali deserves a place in that pantheon if I am discussing those who help me to see education as a movement and not a profession
@marcpsinger I have a thread where I share my thoughts, (and gonna sit in the corner and eat Tofu Scramble rather than engage in a chicken and egg debate about #OER and #OEP) but we need a movement. Stasis, in education's current form, isn't acceptable #OPenEd19
You can't fix a village until your own house is in order. #OpenEd19 went away, all the #OER repos can (and will) go away. #Open begins wiith controlling your own data, identity, and connections. The license you choose such a small part
@Bali_Maha Since I POSSE all my notes from my own website I don't have the luxury of a nickname database with auto completion the @Ken_Bauer and @KenBauer team love it.
I will write it more positive. Here are my seven steps to a more prosocial web, but these values align with #OpenPedagogy and #OpenEd19 https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/2019/04/25/seven-steps-to-prosocialweb
@traceyhabla Here is the correct link to the canonical note....been trying to figure out my following workflow so made a mistake here and there https://jgregorymcverry.com/notes/2019-11-03-4
Hey #edu407 #edu307 #edu307Fall19 check this one out: https://www.ted.com/talks/jamila_lyiscott_3_ways_to_speak_english?language=en reminds me a ton about the "thrice lessons learned" Celebrate words and #literacies Enjoy our last week of poetry (poetry never ends) #literacies
@NomadWarMachine A few tags to check out on my site, sounds liek we are doing exact same work: https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/tag/cognition and https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/tag/apprenticeship
Did hear an interesting analogy from @gigastacey: the arcades and record shops we hung out as kids ae all gone, do this lessen the memories? should digital spaces be the same/ Maybe somethings should fade away.
@PeggySemingson All you UT-Austin and TX folks need to hang with my sis-n-law Constanza Serna, https://twitter.com/traceyhabla/status/1177013671836491776 amazing teacher and librarian. My brother Bob McVerry a teacher somewhere in Austin as well.
One of my favorite parts about blogging is music discovery, With everyone addicted to whatever algorithmic garabge some app feeds up i nice to discover sound organically. I know any day I can troll through #IndieWeb ring and discover someone posting music
@koutropoulos This is the big takeaway post for from #OpenEd19 and #OpenConPhilly19, brewing in my head, and I don't want to be too forceful but want to say, "Are you doing this with your own data, no? Then stop talking and start doing."
To all those at #WCUS inspired by @t's take on how we #TakeBackTheWeb check out this post by @dshankse https://david.shanske.com/2019/11/02/indieweb-thoughts-post-state-of-the-word/ the #IndieWeb #WordPress community always looking for contributors. Looking for an Open source project? No better time than now.
To the folks of #OpenEd19 wondering if a regional network with international implications is possible I say A: first check yourself assuming this conf only game in town rife with hubris, B follow #OpenConPhilly19 and #OpenScience and #GoOpen hashtags
@NomadWarMachine You may find some stuff of interest in here: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/0B4bnEbX-nqloNUxoa0pGdnczR0U I need to return to the book, got behind as we redesigned our theoretical lens around our theory of knowledge knitting and agentive apprenticeship: https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/2019/06/10/so-knowledge-knitting-wil
@Bali_Maha Nate's tweet had a nice double meaning. In my mind I thought...yes that is exactly what I meant. Putting Maha with those folks is a reflection of Maha
But more important for #OpenEd19 is C: A growing body of research suggests these types of networks are the only types that survive. Look at past examples #xmca listserv, #ds106, #IndieWeb, #edcamp. Groups that do survive, groups that talk fade away
@koutropoulos @baha_mali @nomadwarmachine We could use some help adding #edtech site deaths here https://indieweb.org/site-deaths every time I sit down to start adding all the #edtech that 404's I get so overwhelmed I back away.
@traceyhabla Searching through twitter as I making connections with folks I realize you hang with Corn, thx for sharing all the cool pics of such an amazing teacher
