I don't have a research agenda. It's more a life's mission that I hope doesn't get in the way of living life as I learn to love life completing the mission without missing.
but @clhendricksbc notes session more about climate crisis and responsibilities of academics to lower our massive impact due to conference circuit. Just happens to be conferences that adopt open practices may have a minuscule imapct in comparison
Or you can do what I did, wait until after tenure. I dabbled and tried really hard to move organizations towards open before tenure, but I didn't do a blanket refusal to not conferences better aligned to my values until after tenure.
@mariamnotmiriam My guess, however, lot of overlap between effective teaching and supporting overall mental health. No one is saying be an expert in anxiety disorders but if you design you course thinking about cognitive load you are helping,
@clhendricksbc @edtechfactotum Also title of "towards remote parity" why should physical presence increase value of work? Zero impact on the results...except for the fact that the entire presenation and paper were written on the plane the way
Plus we the academy assign credibility in the promotion and tenure process, we decide what matters. Time to wrestle this power back from publishers and professional organization that created the economy of false scarcity around knowledge.
@sinclairmn If it take 3 binders to prove your worth and for faculty to know you after 5-7 years you have A: either done nothing of value or B: Can't write. Cn say same thing in 3 pages that we say in 3 binders. P&T another useless time suck
